Access to the Central University Library (BCU) resources

We would like to inform you that the “Lucian Blaga” Central University Library of Cluj-Napoca (main building, located at 2 Clinicilor Street) is currently undergoing an extensive energy-efficiency renovation process. Notice for BCU Users

The “Lucian Blaga” Central University Library of Cluj-Napoca (BCU) provides all its students with digital access to the course materials listed in the bibliographies included in the syllabi of the Bachelor’s and Master’s study programs, as well as to the materials required for the preparation of the Bachelor’s degree examination, in digital format (in compliance with copyright regulations). Access is granted based on a library card, a user ID, and an individual password assigned to each user: link

The platform is continuously updated and developed and can be accessed using the unique credentials associated with the library card. In order to access digital resources, as well as the traditional services provided by the BCU, students must obtain an electronic library card, in accordance with the instructions provided here.

The library issues library cards FREE OF CHARGE to students of Babeș-Bolyai University.

ONLINE Format

The requested documents will subsequently be sent to the following email address: permise@bcucluj.ro

PHYSICAL Format

a) Issuance of library cards – at the library’s main headquarters (2 Clinicilor Street), at the Library Card Desk

b) Library card renewal/validation – at the main headquarters and at all branch libraries

c) Signing of clearance forms – at the main headquarters and at all branch libraries

Remarks:

  • Library cards issued by the BCU are also valid at the Faculty of Business Library.
  • The library card is a personal and non-transferable document.
  • The Library is a personal data operator, authorized by the National Supervisory Authority for Personal Data Processing, registered under no. 5420 in the Register of Personal Data Processing Activities.

Library Card Validity

  • for the entire duration of the status held at the time of library registration (student, Master’s student)

Loss or Damage of Library Cards

  • The cardholder is required to immediately notify the library of the loss of their library card.
  • The library will issue a duplicate card to the holder, upon submission of the documents required for the issuance of a new card.

Career Center, Career Guidance, and Alumni Relations

The Career, Professional Guidance, and Alumni Center aims to equip students with the skills and competencies necessary to successfully meet all academic and career challenges.

SERVICES
  • Career counseling and professional guidance – a process focused on your individual needs regarding your professional path (e.g., career decisions, self-awareness, exploration, goal setting, etc.).
  • Professional profile development (CV and LinkedIn) – suggestions on how to improve your CV so that it becomes as attractive as possible to employers.
  • Job interview simulation – the purpose of this activity is to work together to find the most natural way for you to present yourself positively and highlight your skills to a potential employer.
  • Thematic workshops (e.g., goal setting, effective learning strategies, motivation, etc.) – new information combined with practical activities that support the development of your skills.
  • Thematic group coaching programs (e.g., self-awareness, resilience, motivation, etc.) – opportunities to learn more about yourself and develop skills alongside others with similar needs, through multiple sessions focused on the same theme.
  • Useful online resources – on our social media channels, you can find articles and worksheets to guide you in your personal development, as well as a career guide if you prefer to go through this process independently..

The “Student Expert” Counseling Center of Babeș-Bolyai University

At the “Student Expert” Counseling Center within Babeș-Bolyai University, students can access psychological counseling services for support with:

  • Stress and difficult emotions management – through effective techniques and strategies to cope with the pressures of academic and personal life.
  • Development of organization and planning skills – to better manage time and academic responsibilities.
  • Improving interpersonal relationships – support in building and maintaining fulfilling social relationships.

Our counselors provide personalized interventions tailored to each student’s needs.

Individual psychological counseling: 5 free sessions per year to support your personal and academic well-being.

Group counseling: share your experiences in a safe environment and find emotional support alongside other students.

Psychoeducational support: access resources and materials designed to help you successfully overcome difficulties.

PsyTech University Psychology Clinic

The PsyTech Clinic is a Babeș-Bolyai University unit that provides specialized psychological services for the university’s students and staff. It offers modern, scientifically validated interventions tailored to your emotional and psychological needs.

Psychodiagnostic and Clinical Assessment

  • Psychological assessment to identify the most appropriate intervention
  • Screening 

Self-guided online interventions supported by coaching sessions

  • Interactive digital programs (online transdiagnostic protocol, therapeutic game)
  • 3 coaching sessions to guide and support the intervention
  • Flexible pace, accessible from anywhere

Individual Psychotherapy

  • Transdiagnostic protocol consisting of 7 free sessions
  • Direct work with a psychotherapist trained in cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT)

  3. You will be contacted to schedule an assessment with one of the clinic’s psychologists.
